A MONTH WORTH KEEPING
A clip can show you a friendship falling apart. It probably won’t tell you what happened before the camera turned on—or what everybody said afterward.
A song can introduce you to an artist. It can also convince you that you’ve figured them out when you’ve barely heard anything.
HIGHLINE is about staying a little longer.
We’re here for the mess. People falling out, enormous egos, decisions that should have stayed in the group chat. But we also want to understand what happened, whose version we’re hearing, and what changes when attention becomes somebody’s livelihood.
Then we turn the page.
There’s somebody making music you should hear. There’s a fight worth talking about. There’s something useful to learn before you actually need it. And sometimes there’s just a ridiculous piece of human ambition that deserves a full page because, seriously, look at that shit.
Those things belong together. They’re all part of being alive right now. You shouldn’t have to become a different person to care about each of them.
This first issue is free. Read it, play the songs, follow somebody new, argue with our opinions. You don’t have to agree. You should leave with something.
